Surah Al Fatiha (in Arabic text: الْفَاتِحَة‎) is Surah 1 or the 1st chapter of the Holy Qur’an. The English meaning of this Surah is called “The Opening”. It is classified as a Meccan Surah meaning it’s revelation was before the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) had migrated to yathrib (medina). It is a relatively short Surah composed of 7 ayat or verses.

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful - [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds, The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. It is You we worship and You we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path - The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
